Sign of the Times

A building near me was demolished recently to make room for a yet another (no doubt tasteful) development. When it came down the adjoining building displayed this sign - definitely not one commonly seen today.

    Yes, I often wonder whatever happened to all those now-defunct drapers/haberdashers... and this photo is a perfect illustration of one of my favourite art words of all time - pentimento.

    I love architectural archeology, I always look at old buildings how they used to be, not how they are!
    I hope they keep this, otherwise get a photo without the big Snort in the way for posterity.
