Wonderful Quilts

My friend Rebekah came over the other day with a couple of quilts made from my fabrics and pattern.
Above is her version of Power of Three with a different colourway - isn't it brilliant?
Also she made a fabulous tree quilt using one of her Monthly Metre fabrics and really interesting three dimensional leaves.

And if you are interested - this is the March fabric and bead set which I have just sent out. Still a few pieces left if you just have to have some.

Beading Workshop Student Work

We are just over half way in my Online Beading Embellishment Workshop and my students certainly seem to be having fun.

Judy in USA has used some of my hand painted fabrics she received as a Monthly Metre member and has added her own magic for this beautiful quilt.

Carole in Australia has finished her Beneath the Surface quilt with some gorgeous beading.
The next workshop will be starting on March 3rd and you can sign up now.

Special Metallic Painted Fabrics

I thought I would do something a bit special for my terrific Monthly Metre Club members this month and so had a fun time painting these fabrics with Lumiere Metallic Paints.
I had so much fun I thought I would do some extras so have put them on the website.

These are definitely limited so once they are gone that will be it for a while.

I am still offering free postage on all website orders until the the end of the year so take advantage of this special offer.

Of course it is not too late to join up and get your unique metre at an even cheaper price.

Australia Day Gnomes

Today is Australia Day here and we went to the Australian Gnome Convention. It wasn't really a convention but more a collection of about 2000 garden gnomes including a collection rescued from a garden where the owner had died.

It was so warm I even had to buy a hat and I am not a hat person but now I am the proud owner of a nice straw hat. Maybe I could wear it while I am dyeing.

It was part of a Family Fun Day so there were lots of jumping castles and fairy (candy) floss and the traditional Australian Sausage Sizzle BBQ.

It was just nice to be out in the sunshine with lots of happy families.

Then I came home and packed my Monthly Metres for February which are really beautiful but I can't show you because I have been told that my members who read the blog say it spoils the surprise.

Tomorrow back to reality and dyeing and working on a new quilt and maybe even get around to writing that article with the looming deadline.

Bag Done

I have finished my bag for my City & Guilds Module.
I stamped the hand dyed fabric with a stamp carved from a design of NZ carvings and then alternately quilted them as well as grid.

I added some beads for further embellishment including a large glass bead which I have had for ages as the closure.

This is the back view.

And the fabric - well it is one of the pieces that I did for this month's Monthly Metres Club and I loved the gradation from turquoise throught to pale green. There are still a few pieces left if you are interested.

Perfect Purple

This is part of one of the Monthly Metre pieces which I finished today. I think they are all really delicious.
It is not too late to join up and get something like this for your collection.
Monthly Metre and Beautiful Bead Clubs are on the website and are posted free in Australia. The bead set will be coordinated with these purple pieces and will be equally delicious.

Fabrics

We have been painting and dyeing a lot of fabrics recently to build up stock as I am about to go under the surgeon's knife and won't be able to dye or paint (or walk) for a few months.

These are some of the multicoloured pieces I have done recently. They are the type of fabrics I send out for my Monthly Metre Club so if they appeal to you let me know (they are one metre pieces for AUD$30) or even better - join the Club and get them much cheaper.

Monthly Metres Fabric Club

I am very excited to announce that we - Dyed & Gone to Heaven - have started a Monthly Metres Fabric Club.

Each month you will automatically receive a metre (40in x 44in) piece of hand dyed or painted fabric which will be sent at a reduced price and post free in Australia/NZ and $5 month (less than cost) elsewhere.

There are a variety of ways to join from just paying each month or one off payments for 12, 6 or 3 months which work out even cheaper.

Members will also get offered specials and discounts which will only be available to them.

If you get a friend to join then you both will also get a free fat quarter of coordinated hand dyed fabric each with your first package.

This range of fabrics has very quickly become our most popular and often sell out first at shows as they are perfect for landscapes, applique or sometimes just for fondling as they are so luscious. Each one is individually painted or dyed and can't be duplicated.

Here are some examples of the sort of fabrics you could expect.

Looking forward to welcoming you to our new club
