A First for Me

I am so excited to announce that my quilt Solar Flare which is part of the State of the Art Exhibition currently touring Queensland was sold during the Textile Arts Festival in Brisbane this weekend.

I am thrilled that I got to meet the purchaser who is going to hang it in her healing centre where she says it will give pleasure to many.

This is my first major sale and I hope the first of many. There are others on my website if you are interested.

Latest Work

Just finished a work for an exhibition. It is called Solar Flare as it is reminiscent of the heat shimmering from the sun . Can't show you the whole quilt yet but here are some detail shots.
Beads are working their way back into my work.
It is hand dyed cotton covered with a wonderful piece of hand dyed silk organza which emphasises the depth of colour. The circles are cutout and then quilted.
