Jeanette Cattanach did my Aurora workshop in Adelaide last year using a piece of her own hand painted fabric as the base.
She has sent me a picture of her stunning finished quilt. What a star.

Little Quilts

Carol did my Aurora Workshop a little while ago and has just sent me these pictures of some little pieces she did for a swap. I think they are so cute - they are all around 5" x 6" .

I am teaching Aurora at Midsomer Quilting near Bath in the UK on Saturday 4th September if you would like to join in the fun. Also teaching Crystallisation (as a one day class) on Sunday 5th.
If you are closer to the Bramble Patch - Crystallisation will be running as a two day workshop on 13th/14th September.

Quiltwoman.com Patterns

I have had some of my designs published in the US by Quiltwoman.com for a few years now.
They have just added Aurora to the range and so I thought I would link you to their website as I have had many requests to wholesale my patterns and they are perfectly set up to supply them.
They also stock some of my designs which you may not have seen before. Funny how some patterns are really popular in the US and not in Australia and vice versa. Of course if you could work out the formula you would be very rich. Good think we don't do it for the money isn't it.

Weekend in Wauchope

I have just returned from a wonderful weekend in Wauchope (very alliterative isn't it?)
I taught Aurora and Breaking the Drought to two large groups of enthusiastic quilters.
Here are the Auroras at the end of the one day workshop and we spent a lovely hour out in the sunshine for the beading section of the class.
The Breaking the Drought group have more work to do at home as we squashed a two day workshop into one day but lots of really interesting embellishments were created during the class and the machines were humming. Here I am on the floor talking about layout.

Cohuna Workshop
Here are some images of my workshop at Cohuna. We did Aurora and as you can see everyone created a wonderful quilt. It was lovely to have the luxury of two days to do this (usually) one day workshop.
We spent a lot longer in the beading component and 3 of the students managed to finish all their quilting and were able to bind the quilt as well. Now they get to go home and do the relaxing beading.
Also teaching at the Cohuna Country Quilters Weekend was Michelle Hill whose class created some amazing designs. She is a very talented quilter and her presentation and quilts were truely incredible.

Home from Be Creative
Had a wonderful time at Coffs Harbour with my students and the other tutors.
Flying into Coffs you can see that they have had so much rain.
I taught Crystallisation for the first time and was so thrilled with the resulting quilts. I can't wait to see photos of the finished quilts.
Aurora quilts en masse always look spectacular

Busy Busy Busy
My most popular quilt kit AURORA sold out in Melbourne so as soon as I got home I started to paint more for CRAFTFEST which starts on Friday in Sydney.
We were doing really well yesterday but today is cloudy and damp so I'm not sure how these are going to dry.

Still have the Blue/Green ones to do this afternoon.
Then they have to be cut and packed and of course the beads

Sometimes I wish I was a business that just had to ring a supplier to restock rather than start from scratch... No I don't!

Another Aurora
I have just finished another Aurora quilt and it has been very satisfying doing the beading while I am still unable to walk.

Here is some of the beading close up.

So slack
Here it is January 3rd and I haven't posted. Do I have an excuse - no not really but I have been sewing.
I needed another sample of Aurora so have done this one. I love the colours.

I have only just started beading it but it is good to be back doing some hand work.

DVD Delivery
Today I received my copies of the latest issue of Quilters Companion (Issue No 32) which comes with a fabulous DVD. OK maybe not so fabulous but it is the one I filmed a few months ago with my project Aurora.
I watched it with great trepidation and once the first few (very nervous) minutes passed I appeared a lot more relaxed. Phew! Peter did still chuckle a lot though.
Anyway - the proof will be in the feedback I guess.

Kits containing unique hand painted fabric and coordinating beads & beading thread are available and I also have magazines with the DVD so if you are not able to pick up one locally then I can send one to you.
