I am definitely a city girl so when I am in the country I have to ask all sorts of stupid questions.
While teaching at Coleambally in outback NSW we were so lucky to stay on a proper farm. Our hosts were generous and entertaining and I learnt a lot about life on the land as well.
They grow wheat
and corn
as well as (very inquisitive) angus beef - these are destined for the local butcher and if the steak I ate was any indication of their quality, then they are very contented cattle. Here is Robert lying on the ground just to prove it.
These flooded gums were planted about 8 years ago and create really interesting lines.
I really enjoyed my time in the country and the hospitality and friendliness of the Coleambally quilters.
