I know I have been remiss in not blogging for a while but while I was in Europe it was all too hard. You will just have to believe me that I had a wonderful time.
Since I have been home I have had the urge to play with my stencils and as I am off again to Japan tomorrow I decided to make a Japanese inspired piece.
First I painted some white fabric with the Indigo Sun Dye in decreasing strength.
Then using Opulence Shaqui and Sun Pearl paints I stencilled designs from the Geometric and Traditional Japanese sets.
I also did a couple of dragonflies in Opulence Aurum (gold) for little contrast as well as some of the Cherry Blossoms onto white fabric as well.
I then cut the fabric up into 4 1/2" and 4 1/2" strips and then used a 60 degree ruler to cut equilateral triangles.
I had enough to make a table runner although I was running a little short at the end and had to stitch some scraps together to make enough but I don't think you can tell.
