Website Update

This is the piece inspired by one of the Ikats from the gallery. I have a tied and dyed a couple of 2m lengths of striped fabric and one just of purple. I really do have to do something with them but will cogitate for a while.

I have just had some works done on the Dyed & Gone to Heaven Website as I have been thinking about the format for a while - especially the thumbnails. Funny the things you worry about. I thought they were too small and so they are now larger and a bit clearer. The main image is also bigger. Would love to know what you think. If you do comment and need an answer you will need to make sure your email address is included as most of the comments (which I love to get) come through with no contact details so I can't respond.

I have also added some new colour runs which we have had for a while but never made it to the website but I am trying to get a bit more organised.

Off on a plane again to Latrobe Valley Quilters Retreat. Looking forward to some clean country air but not the cold.

New Website

I have finally launched the New Dyed & Gone to Heaven Website. I am very pleased with it and would welcome comments. My enforced convalescence has allowed me the luxury of time to stop procrastinating and just get on with it.

It contains Galleries of my work as well as student and customer work and a comprehensive listing of Workshops and Events where we will be over the coming year.


There are also new products including a Beautiful Bead Club to complement my very popular Monthly Metres Club. Each month you will receive a stacking container of coordinated beads to inspire you. There is also a free reel of Silamide (the best beading thread) with your first stack so you can start beading straight away.

I hope you will visit.

A Real Grownup Ad

Although we - Dyed & Gone to Heaven - have been in business for a few years now we have never actually advertised. It has been wonderful to grow just by word of mouth but the time had come to take the next step.

After a lot of research I decided to place ads in an American Magazine to perhaps reach different groups of quilters. The magazine I selected was Quilters Home which is a fairly new magazine which I think appeals to quilters who would like my work too.

Today I received my copy of the latest issue - September/October which contains our ad. It will be interesting to see what response we get. Unfortunately when we booked this first one we had not planned our trip but I am planning an incentive to help people to decide to order while we are away.

Must be a real business now. Do you like the ad?

AQC 2008

We got up well before dawn to catch an early flight to Melbourne today for the Australasian Quilt Convention (AQC). Unfortunately we got to the venue well before they were ready to let us in - lovely cup of honeydew tea - ok it smelt better than it tasted but we live and learn.
Once inside we were dismayed to only find one of our two pallets had arrived. Of course the missing one was the one with the ladders and tables and starting bits and pieces so a small wait until its mate was found. Finally a couple of hours after arrival it was found so we started.

Didn't take too long this time (about 4 hours) so we must be getting into the swing of it.

I also got to attend the Tutor Briefing as I am teaching my beading workshop. It was fun to play with the big kids - they are an impressive group of tutors which I was honoured to be a part of.
Some others weren't quite as fast as us - a long night ahead for some.

Setting up the Brisbane Show

Today we set up our stand at the Brisbane Quilt & Craft Show. It took ages as it was so hot but as the loading dock doors were open there was no point in trying to cool down all of Brisbane. I am very pleased with how it finished up.


Should be a fun show as I am surrounded by friends and really interesting booths that I haven't seen before. I think I am going to have to buy one or two things.........
