Post Christmas

I am not going to talk about Christmas but suffice to say it was not as expected due to family issues. I knew there was a reason I always try to be away at Christmas.

The fabrics dyed in the rainstorm finally dried out and this is my favourite one. Really nice watery effect.

Today - called Boxing Day here - not sure why but is a traditional day for more eating and drinking usually with friends. We went to a wonderful party in brilliant sunshine where cross country croquet played with dubious disregard for the rules was the order of the day along with gin and tonics and luscious foods prevailed.

My favourite was the trifle topped with pomegranate seeds and raspberries.

Of course you can't go past the traditional Aussi BBQ although chicken and corn sausages and seafood ones were not traditional but definitely yummy!

An interesting aspect of the gathering was that many of the guests are members of a Flikr photo geeks group. They all had amazing cameras which were kept busy. Photos were taken of everything from the pets to the food to the special santa which blew bubbles. It was great to see another group of obsessives who also met online.

This is not one of the geeks but my lovely husband doing at attempt at weight lifting.

I'm with you about Christmas Lisa. A friend and I always had a fantasy of running way at Christmas, but we never actually did because we knew that the celebrations would be moved to a day so we were included!
