Perth Sights

No these kangaroos are not hopping down the main street of Perth as some people thing they do in Australia. They are actually sculptures around a fountain which I snapped whilst on a bus. There were others at the side of the water including one with a seagull sitting on it's back but I was not quick enough to get the photo.

Why does every city think it needs a large ferris wheel. This one is going around empty everytime I see it.

Actually ... here in Canberra - kangaroos DO hop around in the main streets!!!
I have seen them in the suburbs, and my daughter saw one right in the middle of the city - hopping along the roads in between all the shops/offices/etc somewhere near the bus interchange ... we have a lot of bush on the edge of Canberra, and Canberra has a lot of "edges" (it is kind of long and skinny), and there is also a lot of bush areas in/near the middle of the city - so kangaroos do tend to come wandering in looking for green grass and/or water - in fact is is a common sight to see them grazing at dusk in places like the lawns of the war memorial ...

but ... I don't think we have a ferris wheel ... yet ...
