Playtime

I have been having a little play with some things I bought last week at the Textile Festival
These little stencils and Starburst sprays come in a large range of shapes and colours. I got these from the Thread Studio but I also saw the stencils at Unique Stitiching.

First I placed a stencil on a piece of hand dye on a paper towel

Then I sprayed it with two of the sprays

I ironed it dry as I was impatient to move onto the quilting. It didn't take long at all and probably would have dried in about 5 minutes if I had let it.

Then I quilted around the circles in a metallic thread and a variegated one.

Sorry the colours are a bit odd but the sun set while I was doing this little exercise.

The one at the top is the one I did yesterday using the same technique. Such fun. I will be doing more of this at my Textured Treasures workshop at Be Creative by the Sea in Coffs Harbour next week and of course in Orvieto in September.

How cool is that!!!

That's really neat! Does it have to be hand dyed fabric that you spray on or can it be any fabric?

I agree with Camcas, I need the circle template!

Let's go quilt,
