Magazine Surprises

I love to see quilts made out of my fabric - especially when it is such a lovely one. The latest addition of Australian Patchwork and Quilting has this wonderful quilt by my friend Nic Bridges called Ginkgo Blues which I really love. Sometimes the simple things in life give the most pleasure. The inspiration for this quilt was a ginkgo tree found during a sunset dash through the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles on our way to the King Tut exhibition at the LA Museum of Contemporary Art last year. Not only is it a beautiful quilt - it brought back memories of a fabulous trip.

I also received another magazine - Quilters Companion - in the mail this week which had a nice piece about my exhibition last July. I had forgotton that this was going to appear so it is always a nice surprise. More photos are on my website Dyed & Gone to Heaven.

Well I've obviously not been surfing the blogworld enough lately...what a lot of wonderful posts! And what a gorgeous space and wonderful colors in your quilts! And that sunrise...get out the color bible and dye it up!

I got the check this week for the sale of my quilt to Quilts Inc, and think that I am going to use some of it to---hoooray!---put a deep utility sink in the basement next to the washer for dyeing mostly...yeah!

Hugs, Sarah
