Enough?

A really scary thing happened last night.
I went to get some supplies to try a new technique that I have been meaning to try for ages.
I needed the soldering iron - I found two
I needed organza - I found drawers and drawers
everything I looked for - I found - in copious amounts!

Then I started looking further and realised that I had everything I could possibly need for years and years of textile work
There are crayons and pens and inks and paints.
Threads enough to get me from here to the moon I suspect (these are just some of the greens)

Yarns filling far too many drawers and rovings in every colour of the rainbow

And of course beads - a six x four foot set of shelves packed two containers deep and totally full.

and fabric???

Well of course my stock is my stash so that can only be counted in the thousands of metres.

Should I be scared?

no you should be very happy that you have everything you need to create every quilt or piece of art you want for the next 25 years!

Heh. With today's economy, your past purchases are likely an insurance card! Good thing it wasn't just a dream.

Wow! I'm feeling much better (I think!) about my stash size now! I've joined a blogging idea called Stash Sunday, and this post looks as though it were made for that!

Yes, this is a worrying situation. The good news is that I'm happy to help out. I will now bring an empty suitcase with me when I fly down next Sunday, and will be round on Monday night after the conference to relieve you of some beads. I'm sure you'll be very grateful for this offer of assistance, but thanks really won't be necessary. What else are friends for?

Scared? No. Happy and contented. Yes. Clever (because you bought before prices went up with inflation. Yes. But, I have seen shops with less stock....

But you are a shop! If it's too much to handle, sell some, as well as your gorgeous dyed fabrics. Otherwise, this is all your art insurance policy for years to come. And it's all so organized Lisa! Now that should give you pleasure in itself. Can I come over for some organization lessons?

Hugs,
Lucy

I can SO relate! I have so much stuff in my studio, so much so that I've vowed not to buy anything for quilting (no fabric, beads, buttons, books, etc.) for an entire year. I'm actually having fun using what i already own, and no, I haven't made a dent in it!

Wow, that's a lot of green thread.

I'd love to have the time to play with my stash, and it's not near the size of yours. I'm jealous, sort of, but then I'd just have more to not have time to work with.

I would just be worried about what excuse I could use to add to the stash.
