Botanic Gardens
Took the day off from cutting and folding to go to a Members Viewing of the Archibald Prize at the Art Gallery. This is Australia's biggest portrait competition and always an incredible display of art. I am in awe of artists who can portray faces with such accuracy and beauty. Having a tour with someone explaining each painting gives you much more insight and details you probably would miss if you didn't know. I am very glad we went and I really enjoyed it.
Also at the nearby Botanic Gardens were two exhibitions - one of Botanical Drawings called Botanica and one called Reflections on Fibres works so we made a day of it.
The paintings in this exhibition were incredible. Such incredible detail - they were beautiful. Wish I could draw! Both of these exhibitions are open until the end of the weekend. If you are in Sydney they are definitely worth a visit.
Back to cutting and folding.......
