Orvieto Journal Cover
I felt inspired to make a cover for my journal that I was bringing here to the UK and Orvieto .
From this photo of the Duomo in Orvieto I cut this stamp which I then stamped onto white fabric
Stamped the word Orvieto on the front
Used a rubbing plate for some additional texture of the bricks
Painted the background with fabric paints
Foiled some of the lines and the lettering
Hand stitched with hand dyed threads
Final embellishment of some beads.
I have already started filling it with sketches, colour exercises and some quilt ideas.

This looks fantastic Lisa. You're such a clever lady.
Wow! You are indeed creative and I am so glad you are doing what you love and very successful at it!
Brilliant!
Lisa,
A beatiful journal cover!
Love that stamp Lisa-I have been using a bottle of Roxannes glue baste it for foiling because its got a fine metal point [and I reckon its just PVA anyway] with good results. SOoooo wish I could have joined you in Italy....Ciao!
Looks great Lisa.I need some inspiration and motivation this week.Cheers
Wow! I love the journal cover---how did you make it on the fly? Did you have everything with you to foil, glue, rub and sew? Or did you get the materials in Birmingham.
