Orvieto Window Complete

 All finished and faced.
I decided that it needed another layer - I love this technique and am developing it into a new workshop for next year.

I printed the original image onto a transparency and then, using the overhear projector, projected it onto the quilt on the design wall.

Then I drew around the shapes with a chalk pencil.

Using a 12wt Aurifil Cotton Mako thread I then quilted the outline and then painted it with the gorgeous Opulence Paint (Odays #23) with a little Gold Shimmer added to give it even more of a patina.
Then I quilted it to death. I love quilting and adding yet another layer of texture.

This is masterful, Lisa!!! Your new technique is so innovative, allowing for wonderful detail and luscious color. Gives me goose bumps to think you'll be walking through that door of inspiration, into the heart of Orvieto...soon! Brava!
