It's Here!

Leap and the net will appear!

Over two years ago - a chance conversation with the Creative Director of C&T Publishing at Houston Quilt Market resulted in me being brave enough to mention that I had a couple of vague book ideas.  From that moment on, after some more meetings and lots of emails and a formal submission resulted in confirmation that my proposal had been accepted.

So for the next 18 months it has been the focus of my work. I couldn't tell people and still continued my fairly busy life of teaching, dyeing, travelling & shows while spending most of my thinking/creative time working on 'the book'!

There were times I didn't think it would ever be done but I had great support from good friends. My  friend Erica painted me this sign - just to shut me up I think.

This morning I had a delivery of a lovely plant from all my friends at C&T Publishing congratulating me on my book - Beautiful Building Block Quilts.
When I came home this afternoon Peter was waiting for me with MY FIRST COPY!

It was actually a very emotional moment as I opened the wrapping and touched those shiny pages full of my words and my pictures and my drawings. I can't believe that I am actually responsible for creating this book.
I will be showing you some more of the contents as well as some of the processes behind the scenes over the next few weeks.
It isn't actually available until early March from me or book stores and April from the big booksellers like Amazon etc. I will have limited copies available from my website and you can pre-order now.

Congratulations! I love that new book feeling!

I vividly remember seeing the quilt that is on the cover at the Sydney Quilf Show. Fantastic design and fantastic quilting by mic Bridges. Savour the moment. I look forward to seeing the book.
